A mother at the hospital bedside of her critically wounded soldier son in the Northern Bosnian City of Tuzla. The young combatant has a piece of jagged shrapnel the size of a cigarette packet at the base of his skull severing his spine and pushing into his brain. He died a few minutes after this photograph was taken.
